The Red Letter Box Standing With Head Held High Up In The Air

Letter box has been living among the people from as early as you can remember. Once started, as sending letter and gratitude between the elite class, gradually gained importance among the commoners. People were able to get news of their distant relatives and family members. It was then time to establish a department to undertake the work extensively. The postal department was set up and letterboxes were put up in Brisbane and all around.

If you try to describe the profile of postal department then it can be defined to be a huge organisation serving world throughout. History states the first post box was erected in Paris to make it familiar to people. At that time, the post boxes were iron casted and didn’t have any specific colour for recognising. However, to standardise the post box they were all painted red which could be spotted from a distant sight. To protect the content from unauthorised trespassing it was cast in iron and had been installed with one access door. The access door could only be opened by the postal department.

There are two kinds of post box used today. First is the post box which is installed at the corner of a block and the other is called letterbox installed in your Brisbane house which serves for storing incoming mails. There is no fixed shape or size of the letter box but for post box there is standardised shape, size and colour. These properties are country specific but serves for the united purpose of collecting the mails, envelops and greetings. The post boxes are cleared at certain intervals in a day which depends on the collection of mails. The urban boxes might be cleared twice or thrice, whereas in outskirts they are collected once. The clearing process might be increased during special time of the year like during Christmas when the collection is more.
